Here at UC we pride West Virginia culture and hospitality above all else! Each year we are happy to offer a unique medal for our Half Marathon Runners that is hand-crafted by West Virginian artisans.
For the 2024 race year, we are collaborating with Summer Hollow Pottery to design our medals. Creator, Wendy Summer, has been in business for 25 years, creating beautiful works of art.

2017 Half Marathon runners received a wood medal hand-crafted by Larry Wrenn. He is a local wood craftsman from Beckley, WV. Wrenn's wood creations can be seen at the Tamarack in Beckley.
The medal is burned with a design made by University of Charleston student, Megan Farley.
In 2016, our medals were made by Wingard Pottery out of clay and stamped with a custom stamp.
In 2015, we had a more traditional medal.
